documentary perfomance on the use of water and access to water as a tool of warfare
At the core of the performance crafted by authors from Donetsk and Luhansk lies a striking dichotomy: the severe water scarcity in Donetsk juxtaposed with the excess flooding in the Kakhovka Dam region of Ukraine.
The production draws on documentary materials, including interviews, photos, and videos. A collage of videos and live streams, occasionally overlaid with the sounds of actual cannonades, conveys both the fragility and vulnerability of life, along with a passionate determination to fight for it.
The theater serves its creators not only as a means of documenting and reflecting on the catastrophe but also as a form of salvation. Their passion for theater is as strong as people's need for water. "Water" — theater as a means of surviving together.
